Ethiopian Potter, 1979.

This is a photograph of an Ethiopian Jew performing the most primitive type of pottery. Jews in Ethopia were referred to by the derogatory term "Falasha," and one of the sources of pride of those emigrating to Israel is that they are no longer confronted with this epithet.
